The laser blade was a weapon used by the Zypherian army, the Dark Empire, and certain other beings, including other Force-sensitives. Laser blades consisted of a plasma blade, powered by the user's affinity with the Force, that was emitted from a usually metallic hilt. It was a weapon that required skill and training.
Laser blades were generally used both for combat and defense. A laser blade could cut through virtually anything, from enemies to blast doors. The only way to block the incoming attack of a laser blade was with another laser blade. When used defensively, a laser blade could deflect laser bolts and with skill, could even reflect the shots back toward the shooter or some other target. Most practitioners used one single-bladed laser blade, though some used double-bladed laser blades or even multiple laser blades at once.
